4. Teams: Delegations sent by the IDLDF members (association members) on behalf of their countries or regions.

5. Qualifications

5.1 IDLDF member (association members).

5.2 Every country or region can send one south lion, one dragon and one north lion team. The host can send two teams for each event.

5.3 Champions of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd World Dragon & Lion Dance Championships.

5.4 All athletes’ accreditation cards shall be tested.

5.5 All athletes shall be proved healthy by their national or regional hospitals. No gender or age limit.

5.6 All athletes shall follow the laws and rules of the host country.

6. Competition method

6.1 Dragon dance team: 16 people shall be composed by 1 team manger, 1 coach and 14 athletes.

6.2 South Lion Team: 10 people shall be composed by 1 team manager, 1 coach and 8 athletes including drummer, gong player and substitutes.

6.3 North Lion Team: 12 people shall be composed by 1 team manager, 1 coach and 10 athletes including drummer, gong player and substitutes.

6.4 All athletes can participate in more than one event.

10. Events

10.1 Dragon Dance: 1. Compulsory Exercise, 2. Optional Exercise, 3. Sortition Exercise, 4. Speed Exercise, 5. Obstacle Exercise, 6. Traditional Exercise, 7. All Round.

10. 2 South Lion Dance: 1. Compulsory Exercise, 2. Optional Exercise, 3. Sortition Exercise, 4. Speed Exercise, 5. Obstacle Exercise, 6. Traditional Exercise, 7. All Round.

10.3 North Lion Dance: 1. Compulsory Exercise, 2. Optional Exercise, 3. Sortition Exercise, 4. Speed Exercise, 5. Obstacle Exercise, 6. Traditional Exercise, 7. All Round.

11. Rules

11.1 The competition will adopt the “International Competition & Judging Rules of Dragon & Lion Dance” published by the IDLDF in 2008.

11.2 The competition sequence will be decided by one time draw lots.

11.3 Each event will compete once and the ranking will depend on scores.

11.4 Each category has 6 individual events and their accumulation will be the all round scores.

11.5 All events will be recommended to use music to accompany the performance.

12. Ranking

12.1 Top three teams of each individual event will be awarded with medals and certificates.

12.2 Top three teams of all round events will be awarded with medals and certificates.

12.3 World Dragon & Lion Dance Champion Cup (Running Cup) will be awarded to the highest score of three all rounds.

13. Expenses

13.1 From May 8 to 13, 2008, the organizing committee will provide registered teams with partial food, accommodation and local transportation. Accommodation: South Lion Team: 5 rooms. North Lion Team: 6 rooms. Dragon Dance Team: 8 rooms. Food: meals during the competitions time including welcome and celebration dinner (all these only for the registered people)

13.2 Transportation expenses to and from Shanghai China will be borne by teams.

13.3 Organizing committee will provide airport, hotel and competition venue transportation service.

13.4 Early arrival, delayed departure or exceed people will be charged with 50USD per person per day.

14. Competition equipment

14.1 The competition venue will be covered with carpet of 20m X 20m.

14.2 The organizing committee will prepare two sets of dragon dance, south lion and north lion equipment. One set of gong, drum, cymbal and musical instrument will be prepared.

14.4 Each team is kindly required to prepare your own equipment.

15. Public pole formation

The organizing committee will provide public pole for all teams. It will be the exclusive pole formation used by the organizing commit. If any team needs to decorate the pole, you are required to conduct quickly and shall not disturb the progress of the competition.

16. Accreditation card

The organizing committee will make accreditation cards for all participants. Anyone enters the competition venue will be required to reveal the accreditation cards.

17. Entry date

The entry dates are from today to March 1, 2008.

18. Registration, arrival and departure

18.1 First entry date is by December 31, 2008. Second entry date is March 1, 2008. All team managers, coaches, athletes need to provide their names, gender, passport numbers to the IDLDF Secretariat

19. Registration procedure

19.1 IDLDF members are kindly requested to feed back the entry forms, three copies of accreditation photos of each participant, 4 copies of collective photos and brief introduction for promotion purpose.

19.2 Please bring IOC recognized national or regional flags and songs.

19.3 Entry Fee: 5 USD for every participant.

19.4 Food and accommodation fee: 15 USD per person per day. There will be 5 days.

20. Video

The competition video right is exclusive to the IDLDF

21. Host right

21.1 The competition will adopt the 2008 version “International Competition & Judging Rules of dragon & Lion Dance” published by the IDLDF.

21.2 The decision of the organizing committee will be the final. No appeal will be accepted.

21.3 All participating teams should follow laws and rules of the host country or region. Any disturbance, destroy or strike will be warmed. Teams violate the regulations severely will be punished by forbid to take part in any international competitions of two years. We will retain the right to pursue legal responsibility against any teams violate laws.

22. All participants shall be insured by themselves. The organizing committee is not responsible for any injury.
